Even tho’ she’s still good looking, And she has kept her figure, He doesn’t want to know, He won’t discuss it, She’ll never know his reasons for reverse. Maybe if they’d had some children, And life had kept it’s flavour, But that was not the problem, Something deeper, driving him on to His reasons for reverse. She tried the nights of passion, And she let go in anger, But there was no reaction, he’s a stranger Well on his way with his Reasons for reverse. She thought of other women, And looked for traces on him, But there were no affairs, It wasn’t there, that’s not the cause Of his reasons for reverse. She tried the nights of passion, And she let go in anger, But there was no reaction, he’s a stranger Well on his was with his Reasons for reverse.

What would you say to me, up on an aeroplane, If we'd been told it would crash, What what you think to say How would you do in a situation like that? On the mountain and climbing and dangling, Hanging by your fingernails How would you handle it? Would you be scared will be brave? Stuck in a crowded pub, somebody calls your name, Threatened with a broken glass, Would you stand up to it, Would you be scared will be Brave? On an Atlantic cruise, over the side you splash, Knowing that they can't turn around. Could you compose yourself? Would you be scared will be brave? Could you compose yourself? Would you be scared will be brave?

And if you think you've got it all worked out and know the reason for the split, Well don't you hold it back ,just tell me and I'll publish it, And if you think you know what kind of people you are dealing with.. The men behind the walls,in rooms with leaded doors, Threatening the world... Will you be the one..be the one,be the one.. Will you be the one to hold my shooter, Will you let me share your bivouac , Would you settle down with a reformed looter, Will you help me get my spirit back , And will you supply me with ooh ooh ooh ooh.. Will you be the one ? Will you be the one to hold my shooter, Will you let me share your bivouac, Would you settle down with a reformed looter, Could you help me get my spirit back , And will you supply me with ooh ooh ooh ooh.. Will you be the one ?

Circles 03:04
When I look around there’s lonesome hippies, Mods and Rockers, Teds and Punks. I don’t want to join the Tired Insipids, Washed out cowboys, social drunks. I don’t wanna cause a change of opinion, I don’t wanna shoot things down in flames, Anyway that’s beyond my direction. When I was at school, a football hero, England captain was my dream. Then I met a man with songs and words And everybody gets impressed at sixteen… “And it all involves the circles, Kids never seem to change, All in uniforms and looking strange”. Then I met a girl with thick mascara, Ten years older, with a flat. Innocence went on an old worn sofa, Closed my eyes and that was that. “It all involves the circles, Kids never seem to change, All in uniforms and looking strange”. “It all involves the circles (round and round in circles) Kids never seem to change (never seem to change) All in uniforms and looking strange”…

He told me that the Kirkbrides were border raiders, I always wondered what my bloodlines were, And in that smokey room, he told me over a beer or two, And I'm following directions he suggested. He showed me some pictures that he had of his woman, And down at her feet were kids with curly hair, And over a tear or two we talked about the girl we knew, And I'm following directions he suggested. He took me across the water, with the other children And his Liverpool daughter, far away. Oh I miss you Mama, I miss you everyday, Oh I miss you Mama, I miss you everyday. He told me that his whole life had exploded, And that for a while he'd been treading on air, And over a beer or two we talked about the girl we knew, And I'm following directions he suggested. He took me across the water with the other children And his Liverpool daughter, far away. Oh I miss you Mama, I miss you everyday, Oh I miss you Mama, I miss you everyday.

Going Down 02:52
Going down, going down thro’ the night, The captain’s voice is shaky and it doesn’t Sound right, The woman sitting next to me is crying, she Won’t get up off her knees, And the lady says tighten up… Going down, going down thro’ the night, Watching the people’s faces in the fading light, There’s a man with a lot to lose, he’s crying, His face is down in his shoes, and The lady says tighten up. It’s really nothing very serious I tell myself it’s OK Everybody’s just a little scared, a little scared. It’s really nothing very serious I tell myself it’s OK Everybody’s just a little scared, a little scared. Going down, going down thro’ the night, There’s a hundred and eighty tight faces In the flickering lights, And the woman sitting next to me is Shaking, she can’t get up off her knees And the lady says tighten up, tighten up. Going down, going down thro’ the night…

He makes up things for you to do today, he makes your loving so compact. You seem to like a lot of different things, I'd like a bright new Cadillac.. I'd like to show you things with colour in, and maybe guide you out of grey.. Oh look at the mess you made, the terrible mess you made, Oh look at the mess you made The terrible mess you made.. Although you want to go to Paris, he won't take you there, he is very much aware that you have been there.. And he don't like to see you sparkle or to see you shine .. Oh look at the mess you made .. The terrible mess you made .... oh look at the mess you made...

Some Nights 03:05
I read the letter that you wrote, about all the time we had, You realise that is was good, and you want to get it back. I wasn’t gonna give it ya – Oh but you persuaded me, I wasn’t gonna live with ya – Oh but you persuaded me. I wasn’t gonna let you know, it was hard for me to let it show, Until something that somebody else once wrote gave me the sympathy, And I wasn’t gonna let you see, the way you have affected me. I wasn’t gonna give it ya – Oh but you persuaded me. “There are some nights when you are missing, I don’t even recall your name. All the things that you need to be given are given away”. I read the letter that you wrote, about the Summertime we had, You realise that it was good and you want to get it back., And I wasn’t gonna give it ya – Oh but you persuaded me. I wasn’t gonna give it ya – Oh but you persuaded me. “There are some nights when you are missing, I don’t even recall your name. All the things that you need to be given are given away”.

Brandy Loops 03:05
Well you're looking good and I'm feeling right, So I think I might come home tonight, And feel your touch like velvet, for a while. With your brandy loops and your pink champagne, And your diamond hoops and your lion man, And art you must have learned in Arab towns. Sometimes I need to come and stay Because it's fun because it's strange. And I would do anything for you, And I would be anywhere anytime, And I would do anything just as long as it's satisfying and not too tiring. With your silver cloak and your Crimson cane, And the boys you pulled out of the rain, And rooms that you keep locked in your hotel. Sometimes I need to come and stay, Because it's fun, because it strange. And I would do anything for you, And I would be anywhere, anytime. And I would do anything just as long as it's satisfying and not too tiring.
