Down on the Diverse, Jenny drives a Pink hearse, For LaLa and the Monkeys, who are playing down at Ghandis. Down on the Diverse, you never take a full purse, Cos everybodies hungry, you can see it in their eyes. Down on the Diverse.. Black lacquer Needle Gun,hash flavour chewing gum, Shivers from the Battery, you can feel it underground. Down at "The Dirty Nun", pink pills swallow one, And power that eluded you, puts shivers in your spine. Shivers in your spine... Chant: Down on the Diverse.. Mama says don't go down on the Diverse ! Thirty miles fenced off, parachute, RedCross, Taboo from the Government, who are playing it all down. Black and white and brown fools, living by the New Rules, And babies glowing in the night, put shivers in my spine. Shivers, shivers in my spine... Chant: Mama says don't go down on the Diverse !

He was four foot ten, With his razor pen, And he never seemed to like what he wrote with it. With his poison scrawl, He could knock them all, But he never seemed to get any joy from it, ‘Til suddenly he changed, he was impressed and said this new lot would be Mammoths in July… He had heard it all, And was cynical to the point where he should have got away from it. But his ego fuelled, His sarcastic tools, He relied on the fame that he scrounged from it, And suddenly he changed, He was impressed, And said this new lot would be Mammoths in July Mammoths in July Suddenly he changed, He was impressed, And said this new lot would be, Mammoths in July

I made a deal with an Italian, He ripped me off, he really got me. Ain’t that just like an Italian. I made a deal with an Italian, He ripped me off, he really got me. Ain’t that just like an Italian. I had an affair with a teacher, She turned me on, she really learned me. Ain’t that just like my little teacher. I had a mate called Nathaniel, He ripped me off, he really got me. Ain’t that just like a Nathaniel. Just like an Italian… Just like an Italian…

Green Room 02:51
One hundred words is all I wrote today I will not let this beat me, Won’t let this thing defeat me… I’m sitting on this little century, I need a lot more zeros, But it takes time and time goes… When it hurts my head and it goes Boom boom, I have to disappear to my new green room, That I had installed at incredible cost, To give me my inspiration… My English teacher was some good to me I learned the art of precis, No one can precis like me… There is no love in this biography, It’s sort of science fiction, Bad girls and men of action… But it comes and goes and my hands get tied, So I have to disappear until it comes back right, I walk up the wall and switch on the light – Knowing that no one sees me, I have dreams in my green room… My place to relax and fill up my mind, When out of control and I need to unwind, In my green room.

It hurts when you bite your tongue, Oh don't it really hurt, I know it hurts, it hurts when you bite your tongue, So you lie in the nude with your window open, It's very late but Wendy may appear. It's sad when your girlfriend's gone, I know it's really sad, It makes you sad it's bad when your girlfriend's gone, But if you lie in the nude with your window open, give her a call and Wendy may appear, when your girlfriends gone. She would love your teenage body Love so hard it'll make you bite your tongue It hurts when you bite your tongue, Oh don't it really ache, it makes you shake, it aches when you bite your tongue.

Am I not beautiful. . . Am I not beautiful. . . Have I not slim thighs, pretty hair in my eyes, and a girlfriend who says you're beautiful, you're beautiful. . . Look at your slim thighs pretty hair in your eyes that sparkle blue Am I not wonderful. . . Am I not wonderful. . . Look at my lifestyle, what a lifestyle I share with you.. Are we not beautiful. . . He's sittin on the beach sippin rum and cola, In the middle of the night when it couldn't be colder, And he's playin cards with the wolf on his shoulder. The bodyguards watch the burnt out soldier, Who's sittin on the beach sippin rum and cola... Lyin at his feet were jewels and plunder, Was it drums in the East or was it thunder ? And he's prayin hard with the wolf on his shoulder. He shifts his eyes to the big blue boulder, Where lies his love, she'll never get any older... Naturally he wants revenge.. Thinking of schemes for cuts and pain.. Teach em with torture and with maim.. Teach em with hurt, the Lords insane.. Bloody red sun, Hero hungover.. Hell in their eyes, Hooligan cheers, Sharpen the knives, Polish the spears, Red rags, Blood flags, battle shields, dull steel, Tall plumes, ribbons and nightmare grins, sadness wins.. The Lords insane...

about

All written by Chris Bradford these quirky, fun and beautiful songs were recorded at Pete Lennon's studio in the Turbine House at Hamper Mill near Watford. Sometimes the odd Hero or passerby were involved in the recordings, so personnel varied: but always Chris on vocals and guitar and Pete Lennon on lead guitar.

Just Like An Italian
" . . . now then, I loved the Italian people. Kind and loving to me. Hated the Carabos though: one night in Piazza Santa Maria ( close to Folk Studio ) I was having a quiet sambuca having just met James Mason (the actor) and his girl, when I was approached at my table by a friendly chap who asked if I could help him out, well I knew a few people and arranged to meet him the following night to help him out ! The next time I see him he's in full poncy regalia and I'm bustled into van and off to Regina Coeli , busted again, nine days in a cell sharing with an Italian deserter who wanted my crushed velvet jeans !! So I love Italy but still hate the Carabinieri. I was released with my American pals ( Lucky Strike ciggies they shared with me !) because of a Lawyer's strike. Well, off I went to Nice, deported again !! I love this song and wouldn't mind this true tale to go with it - wouldn't want anyone to think I was bitter about a lovely country. . . " ~ Chris Bradford

Mammoths In July
" . . simple story of a music critic who gave me some stick and then changed his mind, little runt he was. I wrote this pretty / biting song for him. . . " ~ Chris Bradford

Down On The Diverse
"Diverse is about going to bad places and getting involved in scenes you really shouldn't. Something I could never resist when young and brave. Mama said don't go down on the Diverse!! Black lacquer needle gun, Pink pill, swallow one, the power that eluded you, sends shivers up your spine! Shivers! La La and the Monkeys. . . " ~ Chris Bradford
